Abstract: | The problem of man's authentic existence, i.e. an existence where man's conflicts with nature or environment and with his fellowman have been largely overcome emerges from the changing circumstances of life as a result of man's thinking about the world and action in the world. In other words, the problem of man's authentic existence arises from man's historicity in the above sense of the word. This discussion is confined to the relationship of African culture to Western culture as the disturbing factor of African culture. Sections: The problem of authentic existence in general - The problem of authentic existence in South Africa - Attempts at the overcoming of unauthentic existence - Conclusion. Ref. |
