Abstract: | Krio culture is identified and analysed, and its salient features presented. These are illustrated with examples of language, proverbs, customs, behaviour patterns, and dress, to establish the fact that these are viable and peculiar to the Krio and can be called their culture. Krio society is dynamic, not static, and continues to be influenced from outside while influencing other societies around it. Yet it still retains a unique characteristic - a moulding of western and African civilisations. The result is a unique culture pertaining to the Krio alone. Notes, ref. |
