Abstract: | A recent publication of the World Peace through Law Centre entiled 'Religion and the law', states that a feature of Islamic law is that it accords equality to sexes. However, as long as the Islamic law of inheritance survives, equality in rights of succession will not be achieved, for it is the Koran itself which enjoins that the male shall take double the share of the female. |
