Abstract: | This article, which is based on a booklet by A.H.M. Kirk-Greene, 'How Northern Nigeria Trains Its Own Administrative Officers' (Government Printer, Kaduna, 1960), relates the story of the attempt of the Government of Northern Nigeria to build her indigenous administrative corps from an inherited colonial service.
