Abstract: | The Rhodesian Minister of Education introduced to Parliament in May, 1966, a new plan of 'expansion' for African education. This post-U.D.I, plan for African education which is supposed to be based on the Judges Commission Report 1963, aims to supply a full seven-year primary education for eyery child in Rhodesia by 1969, and also envisages that secondary education of some kind will be open to every pupil who wishes to have further instruction. The new, post-U.D.I. plan for African education however is only an attempt to save money at a time when Rhodesia's economy is being strained by economic sanctions. This is shown by an analysis of the plan. |
