Abstract: | Today, both clans and voluntary associations provide the rationale and structure through which the modern Kru exert control over both village political figures and administrators of the Kru Coast Territory. The present paper describes coastal Kru political organisation and shows how the two traditional socio-political behaviours clan bifurcation and sodality action - are used in the cause of social development.
