Bibliography/Research
Abstract:Botswana is undergoing rapid economic growth from a predominantly pastoral-agricultural subsistence base to an increasingly mineral-exporting economy. A realization of the extent of this economic change is essential for understanding the need for an immediate study of the effects of present socio-cultural change. In section I, these changes are briefly described. In section II a research plan is suggested with two essential features: a) it should be restricted to the study of recent and continuing socio-cultural change, b) it should be concerned with rapid socio-cultural change. In section III the author describes what might be expected of the suggested research. Map, fig.
