Abstract:The study and research for a recent interpretation of the Glebo (Liberian) prophet, William Wade Harris, called for a careful sifting and appreciation of the sources and the historiography related to the man, his work and its sequels. This survey is an effort to bring that up to date. Not included is the extensive literature dealing with the post-Harris developments, except as it gives information specifically about Harris himself. Bibliogr., notes.
