Abstract: | Death and sexuality among the Kamba, one of the Bantu-speaking peoples of Kenya, are discussed in terms of an examination of one ukuu ritual, performed over a period of four days from January 13 to 16, 1979. An ukuu ritual is performed when a household has suffered a series of deaths in succession in order to remove death entirely from the body and possessions of the deceased persons as well as from their family members and homesteads.
