Abstract:Concerns the economic and development history of Africa, starting from the principle that it is not enough to put that the Africans were instrumental in making their own history. The article concentrates on pre-colonial trade and the conclusion is that economic domination was already being exercised by Arab and Asian mercantilism before Europeans came on the African scene.
