Abstract: | Until recently, arid environments of Kenya have largely been used for pastoralism and some subsistence agriculture with a high production risk in view of the considerable variation in annual precipitation. The government has embarked on irrigation as a significant strategy for the development of small-scale agriculture in these areas. This paper examines the difficulties encountered in the implementation of Perkerra irrigation Settlement Scheme and provides practical solutions to them. Ref. |
