Abstract:The Soviet Union gives its full backing to the changes taking place in Africa, while at the same time taking a resolute stand against foreign intervention and the export of counter-revolution. The young developing states of Africa cannot consolidate their political independence unless they build up their national economies. In this endeavour many African states, especially the socialist oriented ones, have already achieved certain successes. Scientific socialism makes it possible to solve a whole series of problems and it has become an objective reality in the world revolutionary process. The specific features of the world revolutionary process and the trends of its development in Africa show that the conditions for the furtherance of the liberation struggle there are becoming more and more favourable, though it would be a serious mistake to underestimate those forces of imperialism and reaction which are still trying to change the course of history.
