Abstract:The Ministers of Education and those Responsible for Economic Planning in African Member States met in Harare, Zimbabwe, from June 28th to July 3, 1982, to consider the development of education in Africa. Among the items of consideration by the conference, various experiences of Member States and items for consideration in the democratization process of education were aired. This presentation on the topic centered on the definition of concepts and challenges of democratization of education, structure, curricula content and methods and various strategies of action etc. for the democratization and eradication of illiteracy fromAfrica by the year 2000.
