Abstract:This paper is based on an analysis of data obtained from two Damara-speaking informants, who have been living in the United States for about twelve years. Their language, Damara, or Nama, belongs to the Khoisan family of languages, and is spoken in the central and southern parts of South West Africa by between 80.000-95.000 speakers. The article consisted of three parts: a phonological description, a paradigmatic statement of the tense and aspect morphology and finally, a syntagmatic description incorporating the paradigmatic statements.
