Abstract: | The settlement of boundary disputes should be dependent on a correct evaluation of evidence adduced by the two sides as to their history of occupation and past acts of ownership in the disputed area. The aim of this paper is to examine the problems of interpreting historical information on boundary evolution and the nature of intercommunity boundaries. The problems are illustrated with the example of the land case between Ajawa and Lagbedu near Ogbomoso. Notes and ref., map. |
