Abstract: | Different channels may lead to university admission, such as theSchool twelfth grade special programme, some agriculture and commercial schools, the armed forces academies etc. The most important channel, however, is that of the Ethiopian School Leaving Examination (E.S.L.C.E.). The author wonders how far E.S.L.C.E. is an effective and reliable system to identify potentially able candidates. The A.'s conclusion is that E.S.L.C.E. is not the right method and that other selection procedures should be followed, for which some suggestions are done. Tables, notes, bibl. |
