Abstract:Aim of the study is to explore the psycho-social milieu of the so called problem pupil in Nigeria. This means an attempt to know the seput in which such a pupil is growing. The study was carried out by administering a problem checklist to the Problem-Pupils in Lagos Secondary Schools referred to the Child Guidance Clinic, Lagos. The study was oriented around four points of argument about the spectrum of pupil problems, importance of these problems to the pupil's development, the time factor to overcome the problems. The results show distinct problem profiles for the four study groups, i.e., Senior Secondary Pupils, Junior Secondary Pupils, Girls and Boys. The discussion of these profiles lead to the conclusions that the spectrum of pupils problems is large, the impact of them on the psycho-sociol development of the pupil is distinct and the time factor does not rescue the pupil from his problems.
