Abstract:Various cultivated plants were observed, and collected and an analysis of variations found in the nearly 2000 collected samples was carried out. An abundant variation in morphology and coloration of spikes and seeds was observed in the samples of wheat, barley, sorghum, field pea, chick pea, Vigna and Phaseolus. This study has confirmed again, the importance of Ethiopia as one of the most important world centres for the origin and differentiation of cultivated plants. Notes, fig., tables, bibl., photos.
