Abstract: | The embryonic group of Black South African bourgeoisie who constitute the membership of NAFCO (National African Federated Chambers of Commerce, 'the first black bank', suggests that economic growth of a black bourgeoisie can provide an orderly and fruitful path towards equality, a theory which fits neatly with the whole Bantustan concept. The author doubts whether they really can alter the way of life of the black majority. His article shows that this kind of bourgeoisie constitutes a challenge to the national revolution. |
