Abstract:In contradiction to the prevailing view that Africa need not worry about population pressure the author believes that the pressure of the rapidly growing population on its known resources must be viewed with some alarm. By the lack of necessary data it is difficult to reach clearcut judgements on this theme. The author gives some examples of population pressure in various parts of the continent and presents a map prepared to depict the regions believed to be suffering difficulties at low, moderate, and high ranges of density. On account of the rapid population increase the entire continent is now, or soon will be, experiencing a population explosion of major proportions. Bibliography.
