Abstract: | Looks at the Johannesburg Municipality in the period 1948 to 1961 (from the Nationalist Party election victory to the Sharpeville crises), as a branch of the State, and the effects the central Government's Apartheid policy had on it. As labour supplies have played such a central role in analysis of Apartheid, it looks notably at the effects of the supplying of labour by the state. Notes. |
