Abstract: | A land suit, as used in the context of this article, means any cause or matter which raises an issue as to title to land, which may take a variety of forms. The article considers the burden of proof in such suits and the evidence of title by which the burden may be discharged. It concentrates on those points that are peculiar to land disputes viewed essentially from the standpoint of an action for a declaration of title to land. Sections of the article are: 1. The burden of proof - 2. Evidence of title - 3. Description of the land - 4. Non-suit or judgment for the defendant. Notes. |
