Abstract: | The author's thesis is that the land tenure structure in Nigeria must be modified and restructured to emphasize socially optimal returns in the use and care of the land resources. In exploring this thesis, the objectives of this study are: 1) to examine the interrelationships between land tenure and land resource use; 2) to identify existential problems in land resource use requiring solution; 3) to explore options in making the land tenure structure in the country more conductive and more responsive to improved use.
