Abstract: | Following on the reorganization of the legal and judicial systems of N.Nigeria the author, Commissioner for Native Courts in that region, describes the impressive steps which have been taken to provide the necessary training as part of the penal reform: - 1) Training of the staffs of Native Courts in the administration of the new law. 2) Training of the Administrative Service. 3) Training of the police forces. 4) Training of potential Nigerian barristers. The author concludes that enough has been achieved to ensure that the new system will make a fair start on the 30th Sept. 1960. |
