Abstract:Dependency in Kenya is mental as well as material. Dependency is now an all-encompassing condition, pervading all spheres of national life: economic, political and cultural. The withering away of KANU, and the war waged against popular participation in the political realm and in economic decision-making, has virtually killed Kenyan national self-assertive-ness and self-esteem. Recognition of the problem - its depth and all-pervasiveness - is necessary before solutions to the Kenyan condition can be sought. Sum. in French and Portuguese.
