Abstract: | Considers the Mouvement Populaire de la Revolution (M.P.R.) as a type of religious surrogate (this concept is taken from Durkheim: religion is necessary for the unity and perpetuation of society). An analysis of the party's beliefs and rituals, rules of social conduct and organization reveals that the party has had success in spreading political awareness. Notes. |
