Abstract:The objectives of this study were to assess the problems and achievements of disabled entrepreneurs in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, researching their characteristics such as occupation, gender, age, marital status, formal education, disability, ethnic origin, and sources of credit. The study also investigated the factors associated with the success of their entrepreneurship. It also gives attention to the lack of public confidence in the ability of disabled artisans and craftsmen and proposes some measures to improve the businesses of the disabled, to reduce the level of bias against them, and to involve the three tiers of government in assistance to disabled entrepreneurs.
