Abstract: | This is a report on the ethnobotanical study that was carried out from October 1977 to February 1978 on the traditional use of wild plants among the Nyindu, slash-and-burn agriculturalists in the eastern part of the former Zaire. Data on 412 plants, including scientific names, vernacular names, description, uses and name etymology, are listed in an appendix, providing an almost full inventory of plant utilization in the village life of the Nyindu.
