Abstract: | Child labour is one of the most prevalent forms of child abuse in Nigeria. Nigeria has not sufficiently complied with international and national legal standards on the rights of the child, including the prohibition of child labour, due to lack of political will and concerted efforts by all stakeholders. Existing laws need to be implemented and enforced, and a great deal more must be done in terms of pragmatic programmes to reduce the causes of child labour in Nigeria. Notes, ref. |
