Abstract: | This paper examines the nature of the literacy activities, successes and problems faced by the Adult Literacy Organization of Zimbabwe (ALOZ) in its efforts to implement adult literacy programmes throughout the country. It is based on a study carried out at six ALOZ offices between October and December 1999. The study established that, while some successes have been scored, the organization faces various problems. Nine recommendations are formulated to redress these difficulties. Bibliogr., sum. |
