Abstract:Aesthetics is the foundation upon which theatre practice in general, and contemporary Nigerian theatre practice in particular, is constructed. From the point of view of its function as a veritable reservoir or custodian of histrionic history, theory and criticism, aesthetics plays a determining role in contemporary theatre practice in Nigeria.
