Abstract: | This volume contains a selection of papers presented at the centennial theological consultation of St Paul's United Theological College, in the central highlands of Limuru, Kenya, in June 2003. The five essays in part 1 address theological foundations. They deal with the Bible, theology and ecumenism in the light of African realities. The subjects of theological methods, contextual hermeneutics and appropriate curriculum for theological education receive special attention. Part 2 deals with contemporary issues: HIV/AIDS, religious pluralism and Muslim-Christian relations in Africa, the marginalized (the disabled and youth) and theological pedagogy. Contributors: John Chesworth, Musa W. Dube, Joseph Galgalo, Sammy Githuku, Josephine Gitome, Grant LeMarquand, Johnson Mbillah, Peter Mageto, Maryann Mwangi, Godfrey Nguru, Nyambura Njoroge, Jonas Pazstor. [ASC Leiden abstract] |
