Abstract: | Among the factors reported to have limited the implementation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) as a full pest management strategy in Tanzania is lack of information on the pests, their ecology, and subsequent control practices. The problem is compounded further by lack of reliable means of communication. Different information delivery methods have been used in the past with varying successes. Currently, the use of information and communication technology (ICT) offers a good promise for improving information delivery to farmers in the future. This paper examines the potential of utilizing ICT in IPM in Tanzania. Bibliogr., sum. [Journal abstract] |
