Abstract: | The Ifa corpus constitutes the storehouse of the philosophy and thought system of the Yoruba of Nigeria. This paper examines the transition of Ifa from its oral form to its documentation and propagation on the Internet. For the purpose of the paper, fifteen websites were considered. These websites provide information on the Ifa corpus. In terms of content, the websites differ as each is geared towards specific agendas. Certain themes emanate from these agendas, viz. economic issues, identity issues, issues of interpretation of sacred texts, testimonies of life experiences, immigration and tourism, as well as current trends such as same-sex marriage and the position of women.
