Abstract: | 'Jitsvinger: maak it aan' (make it happen) takes a journey with musician, poet and activist Quinton Goliath, 'Jitsvinger' (roughly translated as 'The Dope One'). Calling himself an 'Afrikaapse' poet, his lyrics draw on day-to-day experiences of life in the Cape Flats, Cape Town, and South Africa. The filmmaker looked into Jitsvinger's travels, his opinion on youth culture and society. The film follows the artist around at home and offers a glimpse behind the scenes.
