Abstract:Registration of the piece 'Rituals', a musical and inspirational journey through community-driven healing processes following traumatic and violent experiences. The play is based on the concept of national healing and reconciliation, following the violence that rocked Zimbabwe in the past. It incorporates dances and singing, as done during the ritual ceremonies of many ethnic groups in the country during cleansing ceremonies. Six stories are pieced together to come up with plausible scenarios in terms of the events that took place and the solutions offered to mend them. The play premièred in Harare's Theatre in the Park in October 2010. [Abstract reproduced from dvd-video]
