Abstract: | This is the fourth issue of a series of publications which brings together papers presented at regional workshops organized by Research and Education for Democracy in Tanzania (Redet). The papers in the present volume on democracy and electoral competition in East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda) were first presented between 2003 and 2004.
