Abstract: | This collective volume focuses on the development of small-scale enterprises in West Africa, with special reference to Nigeria. Part I outlines the importance of micro and small enterprises in the development process. Part II highlights the role of entrepreneurs in new venture creation. Part III deals with the policy and programme environment, paying attention to, amongst others, the micro-credit revolution and tax policies for small enterprises. It also contains a chapter on the tertiary sector in Cameroon. Part IV focuses on planning and marketing strategies for small enterprise development.
