Abstract: | This paper highlights the emergence and activities of some Muslim Societies in Akokoland of Ondo State, Nigeria: Ansar-Ud-Deen, Zumuratul Islamiyyah Society, Ahmadiyyah Muslim Jama'at and Ansarul Islam Society. It concentrates on the efforts of the societies to set up Islamic education in the area. Ansar-Ud-Deen has been the most active and succesfull society, having established fourteen primary schools and two secondary schools in Akokoland. Notes, ref., sum. [Journal abstract, edited] |
