Abstract:This report by the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) is the first annual progress report on the implementation of the APRM National Programme of Action (POA) 2008/2009. The POA relates to political, economic and financial issues which countries under review are asked to pay attention to. The report is split in seven parts: the first part deals with the overall assessment of the implementation of the POA; the second chapter deals with democracy and political governance; chapter three with economic government and management; chapter four with corporate governance; chapter five with socio-economic development; chapter six with various other themes such as land reform and aid; and chapter seven deals with the analysis of public resources allocated to finance the implementation of the POA.
