Abstract: | Poem of Repentance is an Islamic religious poem employed for the dissemination of the belief. The present copy of the manuscript, written in ajamiiya script, Arabic script applied to a non-Arabic language, was obtained in a small Mbum village in Northern Cameroun. The poem was written by a Fulbe learned man who, judging from his dialect, must have originated from among the Fulbe near Sokoto (Nigeria). |
