Abstract: | The international crime of looting, particularly of natural resources, is one of the major issues at stake in the conflicts in the democratic republic of congo (drc). among the key actors involved in this crime are foreign companies, especially in the extractive sector. these companies contribute directly or indirectly not only to the armed conflicts, but also to the crimes that are committed in this context. looting, as a war crime, has many implications for the violation of other human rights and the profits generated contribute to the financing and perpetuation of conflicts. the present study not only analyzes the forms of participation in this crime of pillaging by these companies, it also highlights the deficiencies of congolese regulations in this regard. it also suggests the exploration of new options inspired by comparative and regional law to make justice effective. |
